Trip Overview
The trip starts in Nairobi with a visit to two wildlife sanctuaries to learn about their conservation programs. At the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust Nairobi, meet and learn about the life of these orphaned baby elephants before heading to Giraffe Centre where you will be briefed on the conservation efforts of the endangered Rothschild Giraffe.
Samburu National Reserve, located in the ‘northern frontier’ is home to unique wildlife found only north of the equator – the Gerenuk, Grevy’s Zebra, Besia Oryx, reticulated Giraffe and the Somali Ostrich. Along the great riftvalley is Lake Nakuru, famous for its prolific birdlife and home to the Rothschild giraffe and rhinos is an ideal stop as you cross the country north to south. Finally end your safari in the Masai Mara, home of the big 5 and host to the awesome spectacle known as The Great Migration, generally occurring between July and October.

Itinerary details
Day 1. Nairobi, Kenya
On arrival at the Jomo Kenyatta international Airport and after clearing with the customs and immigration department, you will be met by our team who will transfer you to Sarova Panafric Hotel.
Overnight stay at Sarova Panafric Hotel. BB.
Day 2. Nairobi, Kenya
After an early breakfast set out for a full day excursion in Nairobi and visit giraffe center (AFEW) well known for their conservation efforts of the endangered Rothschild’s giraffe, David Sheldrick’s wildlife trust is famed for the orphaned baby elephants. Lunch will be served at the Carnivore Restaurant. After lunch visit the Karen Blixen Museum before returning to your hotel.
Overnight stay at Sarova Panafric Hotel. BB.
Day 3. Samburu National Reserve, Kenya
Following breakfast, travel north through the fertile farmlands of the central part of Kenya seeing pineapple, coffee, and vegetable farms with a stop along the way.
Proceed further north past equator and Mt Kenya (17,000 ft) the highest mountain in Kenya and one of the main water towers of this beautiful country heading to Samburu game reserve arriving in time for check in and lunch at Elephant Bedroom Camp. Samburu national reserve is located on a semi arid area and is famous for its rugged landscape, unique wildlife i.e reticulated giraffe, Grevy’s zebra, beisa oryx, the long necked gerenuk and the Somali ostrich that are rearly found in other places.
After a short Siesta, proceed for an afternoon game drive returning to your camp by sunset.

Day 4. Samburu National Reserve, Kenya
Early morning tea or coffee is served and thereafter proceed for an early morning game drive returning for breakfast. After breakfast proceed for a mid-morning game drive and or visit a local Samburu village returning to the camp for lunch. After lunch, relax by the pool before setting off for an afternoon game drive returning to the lodge or camp as the sun sets.

Day 5. Olpejeta conservancy, Kenya
Sumptuous breakfast is served followed by check out and a departure for Ol pejeta conservancy follows with one stop along the way arriving sweetwaters camp in good time for check in lunch and a short break. 15.00 hrs visit the chimpanzee and the rhino sanctuary before proceeding with the evening game drive returning to the camp by sun set.

Day 6. Olpejeta conservancy, Kenya
Full day at olpejeta Conservancy with both morning and afternoon game drives .
The Conservancy boasts the largest black rhino sanctuary in East Africa; in 2013, it reached a population milestone of 100 black rhino. It also houses the two remaining northern white rhino in the world. The Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary is situated here which provides a haven for orphaned, abandoned, and rescued chimpanzees. It is the only place in Kenya where chimpanzees can be seen. The Conservancy is host to the “Big five game” animals among a large selection of other African animals, which makes it a popular safari destination.

Day 7. Lake Nakuru National Park, Kenya
Depart for Lake Nakuru National Park, described as an ornithological paradise in the world. This is a a four and half hours drive with a stop at equator and nyahururu known to many thompson’s water falls famous for its 237ft cascade. From here drive to the floor of the Great rift Valley arriving Sarova Lion Hill Game Lodge in time for check in and lunch. After lunch and at 16.00 hrs, explore the park with an afternoon game drive returning to the lodge as the sun sets. This spectacular park is famous for the the flamingoes, the rear – endangered Rothschilds giraffe and its a black rhino’s sanctuary not to mention over 450 different birds species.

Day 8. Masai Mara National Reserve, Kenya
Early breakfast is served, check out and drive to masai Mara driving along the floor of the Great rift Valley. Later drive up the escarpment through the wheat and barley farms stopping in narok for a quick stop. Arrival in the masai Mara will be timely for check in, lunch and after Siesta depart for an evening game drive returning to the camp by sunset.

Day 9. Masai Mara National Reserve, Kenya
As the light brightens over the mara and after an early breakfast head out for a full day game drive with picnic lunches to explore the magic of the rolling plains of the masai Mara National reserve famous for the annual wildebeest migration one of the “seven wonders of the world ” it is native to the Mara River in Kenya. The masai Mara is home to the big five (lion, elephant, leopard, Buffalo and the rhino) plus plenty of other plains game not to mention of the over 400 different birds species found there.

Day 10 . Nairobi, Kenya
Breakfast is served, check out and depart for Nairobi arriving by afternoon and check in at Sarova Panafric Hotel for day room. Later, you will be transferred to Jomo Kenyatta international Airport for your onward arrangements.

All arrival, departure transfers and game drive as specified in the itinerary by our safari custom converted Toyota Landcruiser 4×4.
WEATHER
December to March is East Africa’s “summer” with daytime temperatures from 80°F-90°F and evenings from 50°F to 60°F. June, July, and August are the coolest months, with lows around 40°F and highs of 70°F-80°F. September, October, and November are warmer, with lows around 65°F and highs of 75°F-85°F. Scattered rains occur in November and early December, which help to lay the dust.
