Trip Overview

Starting in Nairobi and terminating at the shores of the delightful Indian Ocean, this is a comprehensive safari that visits four extremely diverse wilderness and wildlife areas. From the lakes of the Great Rift Valley, lake Nakuru National Park and open plains of the Mara, Amboseli national park, World famous for the majestic views of the Mt. Kilimanjaro which forms the back drop of Amboseli National Park being referred to as the world’s free standing mountain and the highest in Africa.  Amboseli National Park is home to massive herds of elephants and you’ll experience exhilarating game drives along the swamps and get up close and personal with these gentle giants.

Going down to the undulating hills of Tsavo, this is a great start to a safari and beach holiday.

Itinerary details

Day 1. Nairobi City, Kenya

Karibu Kenya – welcome to Kenya.  On Arrival at the Jomo Kenyatta international Airport Nairobi, travelers will be met by a representative of untouched wilderness trips and transfer to Sarova Panafric hotel for check in.

Dinner and overnight stay at Sarova Panafric Hotel. BB.

Day 2. Masai mara National Reserve, Kenya

After breakfast and trip orientation briefing, the trip departs for Maasai Mara National Reserve with a brief stopover at the Great rift Valley view point for a photo stop. Proceed to Maasai Mara National Reserve arriving in time for check in and Lunch will be served at the Carnivore Restaurant. After lunch enjoy a short siesta before embarking for an afternoon game drive returning to the camp as the sun sets.

Day 3. Masai Mara National Reserve, Kenya

Guests depart after breakfast with picnic lunches for a full day game drive to explore the magic of the rolling plains of the Masai Mara National reserve famous for the annual wildebeest migration that made it to be graded as one of the “seven natural wonders of Africa”  it is native to the Mara River in Kenya. The masai Mara is home to the big five (lion, elephant, leopard, Buffalo and the rhino) plus plenty of other plains game not to mention of the over 400 different birds species found there.

Day 4. Lake Nakuru National Park, Kenya

This morning after breakfast the tour departs for Lake Nakuru National Park travelling along the rift valley’s western rim down the escarpment arriving for check in and lunch at Sarova Lion Hill Game Lodge. After lunch, proceed for an evening game drive till sunset.

Day 5. Amboseli National Park, Kenya

Departure for Amboseli national park follows after an breakfast with a stopover at Lake Naivasha for one hour boat ride. There after proceed to Nairobi for lunch at Hilton Garden Inn. Travelers proceed to Amboseli national park after lunch arriving late in the evening.

Day 6. Amboseli National Park, Kenya

Morning tea and coffee is served and thereafter travelers depart for an early morning game drive returning for breakfast and there after proceed for a mid morning game drive returning for lunch. After lunch relax by the pool before proceeding for an evening game drive returning by sun set.

Amboseli is famous for its swamps and the big herds of elephants together with the majestic views of Mt Kilimanjaro the highest mountain  in Africa (19341 ft) and the world’s free standing mountain that form the backdrop of Amboseli national park. There is plenty of game ranging from wildebeest, zebras, gazelle, hippo, lion and cheetah and the bird life is prolific with over 360 different species.

Day 7. Tsavo West National Park, Kenya

Early morning game and thereafter breakfast check out and depart for Tsavo west National Park arriving in time for lunch. Tsavo West National Park is famous for its beautiful scenery and landscapes including Mt Kilimanjaro that can be seen from a distance. Also a must to visit is the mzima springs where hippos, crocodile and fish can be seen from the glass built bunker under crystal clear water filtered from chyulu hills gashing below lava. Other places to visit is the shetani lava flows, the roaring rocks not to forget the five sister hills. Tsavo is also known for its large population of the elephants, endangered wildlife that include the black rhino, the hunting dogs, hunters heartbeeste and over 500 different birds species.

After lunch and probably siesta depart for an afternoon game drive returning to your lodge or camp as the sun sets.

Day 8. Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary – Saltlick, Kenya

After breakfast, check out and depart for Taita Hills wildlife Sanctuary with a game drive en-route arriving taita hills lodge for lunch and there after proceed to Saltlick Lodge for check in. after a short rest and siesta, proceed for an afternoon game drive returning to your lodge by sun set.

Day 9. Mombasa, Kenya

After an early breakfast, check out and depart by road to Mombasa arriving at your beach hotel for a late lunch.

TRANSPORT

All arrival, departure transfers and game drive as specified in the itinerary by our safari custom converted Toyota Landcruiser 4×4.

WEATHER

December to March is East Africa’s “summer” with daytime temperatures from 80°F-90°F and evenings from 50°F to 60°F. June, July, and August are the coolest months, with lows around 40°F and highs of 70°F-80°F. September, October, and November are warmer, with lows around 65°F and highs of 75°F-85°F. Scattered rains occur in November and early December, which help to lay the dust.
