Trip Overview

The trip starts in Nairobi, with a visit to two wildlife sanctuaries to learn about their conservation programs. At the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust Nairobi, meet and learn about the life of these orphaned baby elephants before heading to Giraffe Centre where you will learn about the conservation efforts of the endangered Rothschild Giraffe. This safari takes you to the world famous  Maasai Mara National Reserve a northern extension of Serengeti National Park where you’ll spend days exploring this vast wilderness. During migration season you may have the opportunity to see over 1.3 million of wildebeest and zebra crossing the Mara River or thundering through the savanna. Basque in the beauty and serenity of Lake Nakuru, Lake Elementaita and Lake Naivasha in the Great Rift Valley.

Itinerary details

Day 1. Nairobi, Kenya

On arrival at the Jomo Kenyatta international Airport and after clearing with the customs and immigration department, you will be met by our team who will transfer you to Sarova Panafric Hotel.

Overnight stay at Sarova Panfric Hotel. BB.

Day 2. Nairobi, Kenya

After an early breakfast set out for a full day excursion in Nairobi and visit giraffe center (AFEW) well known for their conservation efforts of the endangered Rothschild’s giraffe, David Sheldrick’s wildlife trust is famed for the orphaned baby elephants. Lunch will be served at the Carnivore Restaurant. After lunch visit the Karen Blixen Museum before returning to your hotel.

Overnight stay at Sarova Panafric Hotel. BB.

Day 3. Masai mara National Reserve, Kenya

After breakfast and trip orientation briefing, the trip departs for Maasai Mara National Reserve with a brief stopover at the Great rift Valley view point for a photo stop. Proceed to Maasai Mara National Reserve arriving in time for check in at Sarova Mara Game Camp. After lunch enjoy a short siesta before embarking for an afternoon game drive returning to the camp as the sun sets.

Day 4. Masai Mara National Reserve, Kenya

Guests depart after breakfast with picnic lunches for a full day game drive to explore the magic of the rolling plains of the Masai Mara National reserve famous for the annual wildebeest migration that made it to be graded as one of the “seven natural wonders of Africa”  it is native to the Mara River in Kenya. The masai Mara is home to the big five (lion, elephant, leopard, Buffalo and the rhino) plus plenty of other plains game not to mention of the over 400 different birds species found there.

Day 5. Lake Nakuru National Park, Kenya

This morning after breakfast the tour departs for Lake Nakuru National Park travelling along the rift valley’s western rim down the escarpment arriving for check in and lunch at Sarova Lion Hill Game Lodge.

Lake Nakuru National Park is famous as an ornithological paradise with over 1 million flamingos and boasts of over 450 different birds species. This delightful park is also known as a sanctuary for both black and white rhinos. It’s also home to so many different species of animals including the Rothschilds giraffe, common zebra, Lion, Leopard, Jackal, Hyena and big herds of the cape buffalo.

After lunch, proceed for an evening game drive till sunset.

Day 6. Nairobi via Lake Naivasha, Kenya

This morning after an early breakfast, departure for Lake Naivasha follows and up on arrival enjoy a 1 hour boar ride in Lake naivasha with a visit to crescent island.  After the boat ride leave for Nairobi arriving for lunch at the carnivore restaurant and there after transfer to the jomo Kenya International Airport for your onward flight arrangements.

TRANSPORT

All arrival, departure transfers and game drive as specified in the itinerary by our safari custom converted Toyota Landcruiser 4×4.

WEATHER

December to March is East Africa’s “summer” with daytime temperatures from 80°F-90°F and evenings from 50°F to 60°F. June, July, and August are the coolest months, with lows around 40°F and highs of 70°F-80°F. September, October, and November are warmer, with lows around 65°F and highs of 75°F-85°F. Scattered rains occur in November and early December, which help to lay the dust.
