Trip Overview

Get to visit both Sheldrick Wildlife trust and the Giraffe Centre and head to the Masai mara national reserve. This is an exceptional wildlife viewing area where the big five might be spotted in a drive. This is the land of the annual wildebeest migration which made it to be classified as one of the 7 natural wonders of Africa and as one of the 10 wonders of the world. Basque in the beauty and serenity of Lake Elementaita and Lake Nakuru an ornithological paradise in the Great Rift Valley then head north east to olpejeta conservancy the biggest black rhino sanctuary in east Africa and home to the chimpanzee sanctuary. End your trip with a visit to Amboseli National Park, World famous for the majestic views of the Mt. Kilimanjaro which forms the back drop of Amboseli National Park referred to as the world’s free standing mountain and the highest in Africa.  Amboseli National Park is home to massive herds of elephants and you’ll experience exhilarating game drives along the swamps and get up close and personal with these gentle giants.

Itinerary details

Day 1. Nairobi, Kenya

Karibu Kenya (welcome to Kenya). On arrival at the Jomo Kenyatta international Airport and after clearing with the customs and immigration department, you will be met by our concierge team who will transfer you to Nairobi Serena Hotel.
Overnight stay at Nairobi Serena Hotel. BB.

Day 2. Nairobi, Kenya

After breakfast start your vacation by departing for full day excursion in Nairobi and visit giraffe center (AFEW) well known for their conservation efforts of the endangered Rothschild’s giraffe, David Sheldrick wildlife trust is famed for the orphaned baby elephants. Lunch will be served at the Carnivore Restaurant. After lunch visit the Karen Blixen Museum before returning to your hotel for overnight stay.

Day 3. Masai Mara National Reserve – Kenya

Early breakfast is followed by a departure for masai Mara National reserve with a brief stopover at the great rift Valley view point for a photo stop. Drive down the escarpment along the old road build in 1942 by the Italians prisoners of war down to an old catholic chapel buid in 1942 that can accommodate 12 worshipers at a time also build by the prisoner’s of war. Continue further to the floor of the rift Valley driving up the escarpment to narok and have a another stop. Drive past loita plains arriving masai Mara for check in and lunch at Sarova Mara Game Camp. In the afternoon before going back out on safari, enjoy a short Siesta before embarking for an afternoon game drive returning to the camp as the sun sets.

Day 4. Masai Mara National Reserve – Kenya

Get out early with packed picnic breakfast boxes to search for game and perhaps a fresh kill just as the sun rises over the maasai mara plains.

Masai Mara is arguably the world’s most famous game reserve with unrivaled natural beauty and wildlife concentration. It forms part of the Great Mara-Serengeti ecosystem. It is home to all the big five (elephant, buffalo, lion, leopard, and the rhino). Over 95 species of mammals are found in this great reserve. Besides mammals, over 350 bird species have been recorded here and the scenic beauty is unmatched.

Later return for lunch and there after short break proceed for an evening game drive returning to your camp by sunset.

Day 5. Masai Mara National Reserve, Kenya

This morning you leave after an early breakfast with picnic lunches as you have another full day to explore the magic of the rolling plains of the masai Mara National reserve famous for the annual wildebeest migration one of the “seven wonders of the world ” it is native to the Mara River in Kenya. The masai Mara is home to the big five ( lion, elephant, leopard, Buffalo and the rhino) plus plenty of other plains game not to mention of the over 350 different birds species found there.

Day 6. Soysambu Conservancy- Lake Elementeita Lake Nakuru National Park – Kenya

Breakfast is served followed by a departure for Soysambu Conservancy. Arrival at Elementeita Serena Camp will be in good time for check in and lunch. After lunch, enjoy a short break and siesta later enjoy an evening game drive in Soysambu conservancy returning to your Camp by sunset.

Day 7. Lake Nakuru National Park – Kenya

Depart after breakfast for a half-day game drive in Lake Nakuru National Park returning to your camp for lunch.

This beautiful lake in the park attracts thousands of lesser and greater flamingos and over 450 different birds species. There are a variety of bird species to watch in this lake. Not only does this lake boast of being a bird’s watchers paradise, it is also a rhino sanctuary for the highly endangered black and white rhinos. Other animals found here include buffalos, leopards, lions, water bucks, zebras, gazelles, Rothschild Giraffe amongst others. En route to the park, the unrivaled panorama of scenic views of the Great Rift Valley unfolds giving you an unmatched photographic opportunity.

Afternoon is spent at leisure.

Day 8. Olpejeta Ranch /Nanyuki – Kenya

This day, after an early breakfast depart for olpejeta ranch with a stop at the Thompsons water falls in nyahururu. Arrival at sweetwaters camp will be in good time for check in and lunch. After lunch relax and later proceed for your game drive returning by sunset.

Day 9. Olpejeta Ranch Nanyuki – Kenya

Full day at olpejeta ranch with both morning and afternoon gamedrives .

The Conservancy boasts the largest black rhino sanctuary in East Africa; in 2013, it reached a population milestone of 100 black rhino. It also houses the two remaining northern white rhino in the world. The Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary is situated here which provides a haven for orphaned, abandoned, and rescued chimpanzees. It is the only place in Kenya where chimpanzees can be seen. The Conservancy is host to the “Big five game” animals among a large selection of other African animals, which makes it a popular safari destination.

Day 10. Amboseli National Park

After breakfast, check out and depart for Nairobi . On arrival at Nairobi, drive to the Carnivore Restaurant for lunch and there after drive to Amboseli national park with a game drive en-route to Tortilis for check in.

Amboseli is famous for its swamps and the big herds of elephants together with the majestic views of Mt Kilimanjaro the highest mountain  in Africa (19341 ft) and the world’s free standing mountain that form the backdrop of Amboseli national park. There is plenty of game ranging from wildebeest, zebras, gazelle, hippo, lion and cheetah and the bird life is prolific with over 360 different species.

Day 11. Amboseli National Park

After an early breakfast, depart for morning gamedrive until lunch and thereafter Siesta proceed for an evening game drive returning to your camp before sunset.

Day 12. Nairobi, Kenya

Breakfast is served followed by a departure by road to Nairobi. On arrival in Nairobi will check in at Nairobi Serena Hotel for lunch and day room use. After dinner you will be transferred to the jomo kenyatta international Airport for your onward flight arrangements.

TRANSPORT

All arrival, departure transfers and game drive as specified in the itinerary by our safari custom converted Toyota Landcruiser 4×4.

WEATHER

December to March is East Africa’s “summer” with daytime temperatures from 80°F-90°F and evenings from 50°F to 60°F. June, July, and August are the coolest months, with lows around 40°F and highs of 70°F-80°F. September, October, and November are warmer, with lows around 65°F and highs of 75°F-85°F. Scattered rains occur in November and early December, which help to lay the dust.
