This Tanzania Adventure trip is a classic safari experience that offers fantastic wildlife viewing opportunities in some of Tanzania’s top destinations and is great for all nature lovers and wildlife photographers. The trip starts in Arusha – Tanzania then travel to Lake Manyara national park. Lake Manyara National Park has been described by Ernest Hemingway as “the loveliest I had seen in Africa.” This remarkable park is renowned for its iconic tree-climbing lions and vast flocks of flamingos, creating a vibrant spectacle, while also featuring diverse ecosystems that support an impressive array of wildlife. You will then head to Serengeti national park which is home to the Great Migration, teeming wildlife across endless plains, dotted with trees, kopjes, and riverine forests. From Serengeti, descent to the ngorongoro crater, the world’s largest inactive, intact and unfilled volcanic caldera that was formed when one big volcano erupted and collapsed on itself about in 2 – 3 million years ago has over 30,000 animals. This makes it to be referred to as “Garden of Eden” and is one of the seven natural wonders of Africa.

Itinerary details
DAY 1. Arusha Town, Tanzania.
Upon your arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport our representative will be waiting with a pager displaying the Untouched Wilderness Trips logo along with your surname or group name. Following a warm introduction, you’ll receive assistance with your luggage and be escorted to your vehicle. You will then transfer to your Arusha Serena hotel for check-in and an overnight stay.

DAY 2. Lake Manyara National Park, Tanzania.
After enjoying a hearty breakfast, check out and embark on your journey to Lake Manyara National Park arriving in time for check in and lunch. After a short break or probably siesta, proceed for an evening game drive returning to your lodge as the sun sets.
Spanning approximately 330 square kilometers (125 square miles), including a stunning lake surface of 230 square kilometers (89 square miles). Lake Manyara National Park has been described by Ernest Hemingway as “the loveliest I had seen in Africa.” This remarkable park is renowned for its iconic tree-climbing lions and vast flocks of flamingos, creating a vibrant spectacle, while also featuring diverse ecosystems that support an impressive array of wildlife.
As you explore, keep an eye out for the park’s famous tree-climbing lions lounging in the branches, large troops of baboons frolicking on the rocky cliffs, and elephants roaming gracefully beneath the canopy of acacia trees. Giraffes will be seen browsing on tender leaves, and you may encounter herds of impalas and waterbucks. With over 400 bird species recorded, the park is truly a paradise for birdwatchers.

DAY 3. Serengeti National Park, Tanzania.
After enjoying a hearty breakfast, check out and embark on your journey to Serengeti National Park. You’ll experience a scenic drive through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, taking in breathtaking views as you pass vibrant Maasai villages. Here, you can observe the locals grazing their cattle on the slopes of the Ngorongoro escarpment. Along the way, keep your eyes peeled for wildlife, with opportunities for game viewing until reaching Naabi Hills. This spot offers convenient facilities, including parking, restrooms, and a picnic lunch area.
Following a leisurely lunch, the official game viewing begins. You’ll set off to explore the vast savannah grasslands in search of the Serengeti’s abundant wildlife. Look out for the iconic Big Five: giraffes, Cape buffalo, lions, cheetahs, and elephants. In addition, you may spot topi, zebras, wildebeest, impalas, and an impressive array of bird species—over 500 in total—making the Serengeti a true paradise for birdwatchers. Be sure to watch for notable species such as the Kori bustard, ostrich, and African fish eagle.
DAY 4. Serengeti National Park, Tanzania
This day is dedicated to exploring the wonders of Serengeti National Park, with morning and afternoon game drives that showcase the diverse landscapes along the flowing rivers of Seronera and the expansive savannah grasslands. These areas are rich in wildlife, featuring a mix of birds, mammals, and reptiles. The iconic kopjes—large granite and gneiss outcroppings formed by volcanic activity—dot the plains, providing shelter for various species and creating stunning backdrops for your adventure.
The Serengeti ecosystem is known for its high density of big cats, including lions, cheetahs, and leopards, making it an exhilarating destination for those eager to spot these majestic predators. In addition to the impressive resident wildlife, the park is famous for the annual wildebeest migration.
DAY 5. Ngorongoro Crater, Tanzania.
After an early morning breakfast at the lodge, you’ll check out and set off for the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater. As you arrive for check in and lunch, the anticipation builds for your descent into this unique wildlife sanctuary, where diverse landscapes—basins, swamps, springs, rivers, plains, forests, and salt lakes—create an extraordinary ecosystem.

DAY 6. Ngorongoro Crater, Tanzania.
Spend a full day exploring the Ngorongoro Crater. Spot various wildlife species, including rhinos, lions, and hippos, within this natural sanctuary. In the afternoon, ascend from the crater and return to your lodge.
Often referred to as “Africa’s Eden,” Ngorongoro Crater is one of the world’s most breathtaking natural wonders, formed millions of years ago by the collapse of a giant volcano. This geological marvel has become a thriving habitat for a plethora of wildlife, supported by lush vegetation that has flourished over the ages.
Within the crater, you’ll encounter an impressive array of animals, including elephants, Cape buffalo, hyenas, lions, jackals, zebras, and wildebeest. Over 550 bird species also call this area home, all benefiting from the freshwater resources that nourish the ecosystem. It’s interesting to note that giraffes are absent here, likely due to the steep descent into the crater.

DAY 7. Depart
After breakfast, you’ll check out and set off for Arusha Town, where a delicious lunch awaits you at a local restaurant. This is the perfect chance to reflect on your incredible experiences in Tanzania while savoring some traditional Tanzanian cuisine. Following your meal, you’ll be transferred to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your international outbound flight. As you journey to the airport, take a moment to absorb the scenic landscapes one last time. The lush hills, vibrant villages, and the majestic outline of Mount Kilimanjaro will serve as a beautiful farewell to this stunning country.
